What Is Energy Work?

Energy work is a gentle, non-invasive approach to well-being that addresses the whole person, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Through hands-on or distance techniques, I work with your body's natural energy system to release blockages, restore balance and support your capacity to heal.

It works beautifully alongside conventional medical care. You are choosing a new opportunity to enhance your whole being.

How I Can Help

People come to me carrying all kinds of things:

  • A general sense of being off-center or depleted

  • Lack of joy or enthusiasm

  • Acute or chronic stress or worry

  • Burnout and exhaustion

  • Physical discomfort and tension

  • Caregiver fatigue

  • Life transitions, expected or not

  • Comfort and calm for a serious health condition

  • Relaxation support during recovery

A Little About My Path

I didn't come to this work from the outside. I came to it from inside a health crisis of my own, a breast cancer diagnosis in 2006 that stopped my life and finally taught me to hear what my body had been telling me for years.

Energy work was part of how I found my way back, and what I learned then is what I bring to every session now.

What a Session Is

Energy work is gentle and non-invasive. You stay fully clothed, you don't have to explain yourself, and there is nothing you need to prepare or believe beforehand. We begin by talking about what brought you here. Then I work with your body's energy system to ease what has become stuck and support your body’s own innate healing abilities.

Most people feel warmth, or a settling, or a kind of quiet they haven't had access to in a while. Some drift toward sleep. All of it is welcome.

Sessions are one hour and $100, whether we meet in person or online.

Two Ways to Work Together

In person, in Iowa City
We meet at Acupuncture of Iowa on Eastbury Drive. You rest fully clothed on a comfortable table while I work with light or near-body touch. If you are local and you want hands-on work, start here.

Virtually, from wherever you are
We meet by Zoom or by phone, and you stay in your own chair, your own room, your own quiet. Many people settle more easily at home than in an unfamiliar office. If you are outside Iowa City, or you would simply rather not travel, start here.

If you are not sure which one fits, we can start with a free fifteen minute call and sort it out together.
