Happy Solstice to You!
Just as nature slows down and takes a pause, so too can we embrace the stillness within to nurture our inner selves.
I’ve compiled some practices to help with your personal winter wellness care. Use those which speak to you.
Energetics of Winter
Notice and feel into the unique energy of winter and how it influences your own energy centers. Explore the quieter, reflective energy of winter and how it corresponds with our own inner stillness.
In many ways, winter is a time where we might be even more grounded than other times of the year. When we lie down and read a book or sit and look out at the snow, we actually are grounding ourselves. By incorporating mindfulness walks in nature, we also connect with the earth's grounding energy.
Winter Solstice Rituals
Another way to acknowledge coming into the winter season is to create simple rituals to honor the solstice and invite positivity. Light a candle to symbolize the return of light. Set your special intentions for the coming season.
Also reflecting on the blessings of the past year is a great way to build ritual into this season. You could write them down or verbalize them. While it’s great to do this with family members, I suggest you always start by doing it with and for yourself first.
Winter Self-Care Practices
Here are some great self-care practices you can incorporate into these colder months of the year:
Indulge in warming self-care rituals, such as hot baths or herbal teas.
Look into gentle movement practices like yoga or tai chi to keep energy flowing.
