Energetics of Self-Healing
Imagine this scene. A person is face down on a massage table. Another person is standing next to the table using energy healing techniques.
Which one would you say is the healer?
What if I told you that the healer is the one on the table?
You might say that since the person on the table usually pays the person administering the techniques, that shows the healer is the one who is getting paid.
It’s true that the one getting paid is providing a service - even a healing service. And yet, why might I say that they are not the healer?
All healing is self healing
I remember years ago hearing about patients being encouraged to be good consumers of health services. I took that to heart and started to see myself as much more in charge of my medical decisions . . . It was the beginning of seeing myself as a self-healer.
I have had the benefit of receiving healing services over many years. When I went through a cancer experience, I received Healing Touch. I had a back injury and went to physical therapy. I received medical treatment for a case of pneumonia.
In all these instances, how I received and responded to my therapies were my own responses. I came with hope and belief that healing services being provided would lead to improvement of my condition.
Spirit to Spirit
As a healing arts practitioner, I use the Spirit to Spirit technique of energy teacher Cyndi Dale to interact with all of my clients. I use it in my daily life as well, with family and friends, even with animals.
The basic idea is that we are affirming the spirit of each person with whom we are interacting. I start with affirming my own spirit, then the spirit of others and finally, I affirm the Greater Spirit.
By setting this intent, I am interacting only with the highest aspects of myself and others. When I offer healing services, it is the other person’s spirit or high self that is making the choice to receive or not receive energies that are available to them.
Regular energy work leads to a Self-Healing mindset
In my practice, people get into a pattern of being more embodied. This is a result of receiving regular vibrational energy work, which clients report is very relaxing. I often hear that they feel calmer, are thinking more clearly and are able to get more done.
As an educator, wanting to promote client independence, I began early on teaching them how to work directly with their own energy system.
I teach them one or more different “daily energy preps” to start their days. As they continue in their daily practice, they become more resilient. I also spend additional time in our sessions helping them learn about their energy anatomy and they learn new energy concepts and receive tools to use in their self-healing.
